Consumers can also send a letter to the Office including all pertinent information and documentation relative to the complaint against the business. Consumer Education The Office maintains a supply of various brochures and tip sheets which provide information on consumer rights and responsibilities. Legal Remedies Legal remedies available for violations of the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act (FBPA) include a variety of administrative actions as well as civil and criminal penalties. Motor Vehicle Warranty Rights Act (Lemon Law) General information about Georgia's Lemon Law. New motor vehicles purchased, leased or registered in Georgia on or after July 1, 1990 are covered by this law. The site includes various Lemon Law forms. Private Right of Action Consumers can also pursue violations of the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act through their private attorney under the private right of action afforded by O.C.G.A. §10-1-399.
